A Divine Connection Child Placing Agency is here and ready to help you with every step in the process! Once the application is submitted, ADC will be in touch with you to schedule interviews, trainings and a home visit. Many trainings will occur before a child is placed to ensure the foster parents have the necessary tools and knowledge to manage children with a history of trauma. Safety and operating within State requirements are two of our goals, which can be a lengthy process. A person typically becomes a foster parent within 60-90 days.
Understanding the unique needs of youth who have experienced trauma, ADC will assign a case manager to each foster home. The case managers work directly with families and children develop effective coping skills to deal with daily stressors. Families are also provided training and outings throughout the year to help build their knowledge and skills.
